Vegaquemada es un municipio y lugar español de la provincia de León, en la comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León. El término municipal tiene una población de 418 habitantes (INE 2025).

Hacia mediados del siglo XIX, el lugar, ya por entonces con ayuntamiento propio, tenía contabilizada una población de 927 habitantes. Aparece descrito en el decimoquinto volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz con las siguientes palabras:
